Adults Beginners Qur'ān Programme
Course Summary
The Lewisham Islamic Institute aims to facilitate the understanding of how to read the noble Qur’ān. Students will learn how to read the Qur’ān fluently but must be able to showcase the ability to remain committed to a path which requires patience and hard work. Our ustadhs are qualified to teach the Qur’ān and guide students on their journey with the Qur’ān.
The course shall occur 1 day a week for 90 minutes per class, students will be provided with a Complete Qaidah book which students are expected to bring to each lesson. Moreover, demand for this class is substantial: therefore students must be very attentive and consistent if they wish to retain their space in the programme. The course content will include learning the Arabic alphabet fatha, dummah, kasrah, fathatayn, kasratayn, dummahtayn, shaddah, sukoon, mudood, waqf, and stretching letters i.e waw, alif and yaa. By the end of the programme, pupils should be able to read from the Qur’ān.

Students must ensure that they complete their homework on a daily basis and keep up with their revision targets. Students are pushed not only to memorise the letters but also to consistently revise in order to maintain their knowledge.

Alhamdulilah, all of our teachers have are qualified to teach at this level and are under the general supervision of Imam Saabir (Head of the Hifdh Programme who possesses Ijazah in 10 Qira’aat of the Quran).
£200 per annum.
This class is free of charge for revert Muslims.
Students will be given homework each lesson and will be taught by memorising letters and practicing them via various methods as well as additional activities which will foreground the knowledge learnt.
All students will be provided with a designated Complete Qaidah which will enable them to practice their knowledge and track their progress.
All students must be over the age of 16.
