Adult's Hifdh Programme

Overview

The Lewisham Islamic Institute aims at offering selected students an opportunity to memorise the whole of the noble Qur’ān. Students must be able to read the Qur’ān fluently and be able to showcase the ability to remain committed to a path which requires patience and hard work. Our ustadhs are huffadh of the Quran and under the supervision of Imam Saabir who is currently one of the Imams at the Lewisham Islamic Centre.

Course Summary

The course shall occur 2 days a week, 2 hours each day, students will be provided with a hifz booklet which students are expected to abide to. Students must carry their booklet and personal copy of the Quran to each class. Moreover, demand for this class is great: therefore students must be very attentive and consistent if they wish to retain their space in the hifz programme. Students will be subject to an interview and assessment before admissions with one of our teachers.

We have 2 groups

Group 1: Mondays and Wednesdays – 7:30pm – 9.30pm

Group 2: Tuesdays and Fridays – 7.30pm– 9.30pm

Students must ensure that they complete their homework on a daily basis and keep up with their revision targets. Students are pushed not only to memorise but also to consistently revise in order to maintain their knowledge. Additionally, our hifdh programme will occasionally have lessons which incorporate the importance of not only displaying Quran on the tongue but also in the heart and via our actions.
